A small stretch of reef close to the hotel is ideal for snorkelling while the iconic Dondra Lighthouse which can be seen from the hotel is an ideal place to explore. Turtles abound and some use the environs of the hotel as their nesting grounds.

A small property, the Lantern has a total of six rooms of which four are classic rooms while the other two are suites all offering great sea views. The rooms can be booked individually or as a complete luxury villa. Located on the ground floor, the Garden suite is ideal for those less mobile. The suite has a lovely verandah which opens out to the hotel gardens which leads to the beach. All rooms are equipped with modern conveniences, including complimentary WiFi.

The Lantern’s open pantry and urban kitchen is a great concept as you can see the chef and his team prepare your meals. The Lantern boasts a diverse range of global contemporary cuisine which is evident in the extensive menu on offer. Following a philosophy of integrity, balance and inclusivity has led the hotel to support local farmers and fisherman by locally sourcing the freshest organic ingredients which are evident in the seasonal menu. The dessert menu at the Lantern offers a mouthwatering selection of sweet treats including a ginger marmalade bread pudding, a rose, almond and semolina tower cake served with fresh cream, pistachios, fresh berries and strawberry coulis which are exceedingly tasty.
