Hiran Power (PTE) Ltd, company dealing in Hydro Power and Solar Power projects in Sri Lanka has diversified in to the leisure industry.
The company has invested Rs. 400 million to open The Blue Wave Hotel in Arugam Bay last week. The hotel offers 30 rooms including suites. The hotel is located at the beginning of the bay area, on the land side which is 100 meters from the beachside close to the surf point. The hotel has confirmed bookings from guests from Europe, Asia and Middle Eastern countries for the high season.
The Blue Wave Hotel Arugam Bay fills a major void for high end accommodation for the area which was a great need as tourist accommodation in the area was mostly limited to small hotels and guesthouses.
The Blue Wave Hotel offers rooms with modern amenities, free wifi, 24 hour service, a large swimming pool, a well equipped gym and a larger garden area.
In a bid to provide incentives for the people in the area the hotel has made it a policy to employ more people from the area. The hotel plans to have the spa in operation by end of December and the hotel will have a water sports centre with surf boards, snorkeling gear and jet sky’s soon.
The hotel also offers excursions to popular tourist destinations such as Kumana wildlife park with a guide in safari jeeps, Whiskey Point, Lahugala, Crocodile Rock, Elephant Rock, Muhudu Maha Viharaya and Samudra Maha Viharaya.
The hotel also provides Meeting facilities (MICE) for corporate functions and other special events. “We are also offering special rates for Sri Lankans for the holiday season to introduce the hotel to them,” an official from the hotel said.
