Hotel Glendower to be revamped in US$ 4 m initiative

Hotel Glendower, which is owned and operated by Jaysons Group of Companies, will be redeveloped into an all-suite boutique style hotel at an investment of US$ four million. The hotel will comprise 34 rooms and will include a gymnasium, two restaurants, a pub and spa.

The entire project is currently undergoing its first stages of planning and is set to be completed by January 2015.

“I felt like this was a good time to venture into this project and revive the property by giving it a facelift. I acquired the property in 1991 and ever since, though we had given the property mini-revups from time to time, a project of this calibre will help liven up the hotel with the inclusion of this reconstruction process,” Jaysons Group of Companies, Managing Director and CEO, Vasantha Jayasuriya said. The hotel was initially constructed in 1895 and was once the home of the Governor Edward Barnes.
