Sri Lanka’s listed Browns hotels and resorts, a subsidiary of the LOLC group, has rebranded its Avani hotel in Bentota to Taala, with an aim to remain culturally inclined as the country shows a gradual recovery in tourism, an official said.
Taala in Sri Lanka’s main language Sinhala is rhythm and the renaming of the hotel was inspired by the experience of nature and its sounds.
According to the Sri Lankan Tourism Development Authority, the tourism sector is gradually recovering in 2023, and has welcomed over 500,000 tourists so far this year.
