“OZO Colombo”, a subsidiary of ONYX hospitality group is ready to expand further by opening two suites in mid-August marking the brand’s growth in the commercial capital of Sri Lanka.

OZO Colombo owned by Bob Kundanmal was opened in July 2014 with an investment of 21million US dollars currently enjoys a mix market.

OZO Colombo, Director, Sales and Marketing, Palitha Perera, speaking to Daily News Business said that they have been maintaining 70% occupancy up to now and they are expecting to maintain a minimum occupancy of 80% till the end of the year. “Currently OZO Colombo maintains four star standards but our rates are 20% lesser,” he said.

He added that though they are positioned as a City Business hotel they have facilities that are offered at resorts and five star hotels.

OZO Colombo comprises of 158 guest rooms in four categories, Sleep (with the city view), Dream (with the partial view of City and the Sea), Dream Ocean (with the direct view of the Sea) and the OZO Suites that would be added this month.

It also features a wide variety of configuration options to accommodate a range of meetings and event types. The ballroom; Aqua is designed to accommodate up to 220 guests complemented by the sea view. For small meetings the more intimate meeting Space, Talk is capable of hosting upto eight guests.

In addition they have ‘Talk’ capable of hosting up to eight guests. Besides that OZO also has Splash swimming pool at the roof top and a well-equipped fitness room, Tone.

OZO Colombo’s innovative “ipad check-in” ensures a fast and smooth guest arrival distinguishing OZO from the rest of the hotels in Colombo. Also the hotel provides an Insider’s guide to the tourists making the guest more informative on the places in the vicinity surrounding OZO Colombo on their arrival.

The innovative IPTV system installed in the rooms facilitates the guest to check the hotel bills, day’s menu and the available hotel facilities apart from streaming TV and in house radio channels.

The rooftop bar and lounge; ON14 offering panoramic view of the ocean is open to non residents too and is packed in the weekends. Internationally trained chefs and mixologists prepares the Signature drinks at the bar whilst the Signature dishes at the restaurant are exclusively prepared by a Swiss Chef, Stephan Beutler whose last service was in Egypt.

OZO will expand the brand in Sri Lanka by adding two new hotels in Kandy and Galle. The launched project in Kandy will be ready next March with 122 rooms and the OZO project in Galle is planned to be executed by 2016 with 179 rooms enlightening the brand popularity within the island.
