Sri Lanka, Indonesia to pursue trade and investment opportunities

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Indonesia, Admiral Professor Jayanath Colombage had a luncheon meeting with representatives of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) on May 19 in order to pursue trade and investment opportunities for Sri Lanka.

During the meeting, the Ambassador made awareness on Sri Lankan trade products that can be exported to Indonesia as well as investment opportunities in the apparel sector and Port City. The Ambassador proposed the KADIN representatives to undertake a visit to Sri Lanka and explore the opportunities.

The KADIN representatives indicated interest in importing cinnamon from Sri Lanka, connecting Indonesian travel agents to promote Sri Lanka tourism and organising a business delegation to Sri Lanka.

Participation in the meeting from the KADIN included Executive Director Hotasi Nababan, Vice Chairman of Pacific Islands Countries Committee Ellyanthi Tambunan, Deputy Head of Relations between Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Indonesia National Cyber and Crypto Agency Yunni Indrani Widjaja, Deputy Chairman of the Investment Department of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kevin Wu and Head of Analyst of Economic Policy Committee Ajib Hamdani.
