Colombo’s nightlife has got another dimension with the reopening of a new and improved FDO’s on Wednesday, 16 September. A brand new look and an exciting new line up greets guests who want to escape into an atmosphere of live, chilled music, ambient lighting and a setting that’s created to make memories.  The FDO’s lounge bar will feature legends in the local music scene like Burn ft Geoff Fernando on Fridays and Saturdays, Mintaka on Wednesdays, and Audio Squad on Thursday. On Sundays FDO’s will be dedicated to feature local acts by newcomers to the music industry as well as seasonal musicians teaming up for a JAM session.

FDO’s has been a popular night spot for a mature clientele that lived through the 70s and 80s, where music meant memories, people were all friends, and the night was almost like a private party where everyone knows the next person.  FDO’s co-owner Jeevana Fernando said, “We want to bring back the club atmosphere of yesteryear where guests were all a part of one crowd in a place where they can relax and enjoy some music that made memories for them.”  He added that with many of the other city establishments targeting a younger clientele who are keener on the club atmosphere there is a distinct vacuum to be filled that would allow a more mature audience to enjoy a relaxed night out complete with good music, food and company.

DJS Entertainment comprising Dinuk Hettiarachchi, Jeevana Fernando and Sajith Fernando manage FDO’s. DJS Entertainment also owns Voice Lounge, Colombo’s trendiest karaoke lounge and the host and location of the popular Voice Idol Competition that gives opportunities to a younger generation of talented musicians.  Also in their repertoire of music establishments is the Falsetto located at the Waters Edge. With diverse hospitality experiences amongst them, they will ensure a personalised service for patrons, a classy and comfortable layout and ambience that keeps in line with a sophisticated clientele, as well as a pricing structure that would make the lounge more accessible and allow guests to visit more frequently.

The lounge will be open six days a week; thereby making it a place to unwind after work or to add oomph to a hard day at work.
