The Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) is proud to announce the entry of the prestigious national carrier SriLankan Airlines as an associate member. This will definitely have a significant impact in enhancing the booming tourism industry in Sri Lanka.
The move comes in the wake of a massive public relations and media drive across the globe with regard to tourism promotion. The agreement between SLAITO and SriLankan Airlines took place at the recently concluded ITB Berlin. Mahen Kariyawasam President SLAITO and Kapila Chandrasena CEO of SriLankan Airlines did the honours.
SLAITO which is a vibrant organization has among it’s associate membership- hotels, restaurants, transport service providers, adventure sports providers, camping site providers, food and beverage providers and all other such products and service providers. The entry of SriLankan Airlines is definitely a plus factor and will serve as a one stop shop for holiday packages, etc.
At present over 40 organizations have registered as associate members of SLAITO. Among the new members are some of the five star hotels, guest houses to Safari jeep suppliers etc. covering a large spectrum of tourism service providers, Convention centers and other allied associations such as SLAPCEO .
Sri Lanka being renowned for its unbeatable hospitality and diversity in all forms will now be considered as one of the main destinations for travelers.
President of the Association, Mahen Kariyawasam believes that the entry of SriLankan Airlines to SLAITO associate membership would help centralize the operations and provide the entire membership with the benefits offered by the airline, and promote Sri Lanka Tourism and SriLankan Airlines more aggressively and on behalf of SLAITO Board of Management warmly welcome SriLankan Airlines in to the membership.
