Aitken Spence Travels the premiere DMC in Sri Lanka conducted a career guidance program for students studying Russian Language at Walakumbura Maha Vidyalaya on April 25, 2024.
This initiative, led by Russian Market staff members and Sustainability unit of Aitken Spence Travels, aimed to assist local students in pursuing careers within the Travel and Tourism industry in Russian language. The event was honored by the presence of the Zonal Education Director and Divisional Education Director of the Alawwa division. A team from the Russian market division, along with national guides and members of the Sustainability team, represented Aitken Spence Travels.
In addition to students from Walakumbura Maha Vidyalaya, students from neighboring schools studying foreign languages also participated in the program. Educational materials for learning Russian were distributed to both current Russian language students and those interested in learning.
The program commenced with an explanation of career pathways and higher education opportunities, including internships, available at Aitken Spence Travels for students with Russian linguistic skills. Following this, an interactive language learning session was held, fostering engagement and skill development among attendees.
As a gesture of support and encouragement, stationery items were distributed to participating students, who also seized the opportunity to showcase their talents in singing and dancing.
In a pivotal moment of collaboration, Aitken Spence Travels affirmed its commitment to the future of education by pledging ongoing support and guidance to Walakumbura Maha Vidyalaya. Discussions between Aitken Spence Travels staff, the school’s Principal, and staff members established the shared vision of empowering students for success in the global marketplace.
