Sri Lankan expatriate funded all in one super luxury wellness resort under the brand name Santani will be ready by November 2015 at a tranquil retreat in Werapitiya Kandy close to Teldeniya, said Vickum Nawagamuwage, Chief Executive Officer, Santani at a media briefing held in Colombo recently.

“We have a void in this tourism portfolio in Sri Lanka,” Nawagamuwage said adding that the money for the project would be provided by Sri Lankan expatriates. He said 60% of employment opportunities would be given to residents of the area and they intend to carry out many CSR programs.

The first phase investment is likely to exceed US$ 3.5 million and the facility would spread across a picturesque stretch of 50 acre land. The ground breaking ceremony of the 50 roomed project was held recently where 20 chalets would be initially constructed under Phase 1 scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of the year.
