July: Sri Lanka
While much of the south of Sri Lanka is wet during July, the lesser-visited north enjoys dry and sunny conditions – it’s the perfect time to explore deserted beaches and national parks. Head to Jaffna, located at Sri Lanka’s northernmost tip, for a deep-dive into Tamil culture.

Get your summer fix: Jaffna, the capital of northern Sri Lanka, is surrounded by blissful beaches. Not in the least Casuarina, where your footprints will likely be the only ones in the sand. Check in to the Jetwing Mahesa Bhawan for spacious rooms set across a glorious colonial building.
