It’s proposed to construct an aviation museum depicting the history and the evolution of the Sri Lankan aviation. The idea was brought forward to the CAASL officials by Minister of Industrial Exports and Investment Promotion, Tourism and Aviation Prasanna Ranatunge after an observation tour In the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka premises.

An 80 acre land belonging to CAASL has already being identified as the suitable location for the museum and it has been instructed to include details of the LTTE attack on SriLankan Airlines as well.
