Parent Mos-Lanka, in talks with Indian partner for a new hotel

Michelle Boutique Hotel, a subsidiary of Mos-Lanka Holdings, has been awarded the prestigious and much coveted five-star International Hotel Award for 2014, in the category of Small Luxury Hotels Asia Pacific region, sponsored by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

Michelle is an unparalleled, visionary lifestyle boutique hotel, located in a spectacular setting, along the Southern Coastal belt of Sri Lanka,in Balapitiya.

Ever since this competition was launched four years ago, some of the world’s best hotels, and hospitality related companies from over fifty countries across the world have been vying with one another to win at least one of the coveted International Hotel Awards, sponsored by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

Prospective winners are required, to initially prove they are the best nationally, before competing against other top notch hotels across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Americas, Arabia, Africa and the UK. The latest entrants to this highly competitive group are Peru and the Bahamas.

The Award was presented to Michelle Boutique Hotel, following an extensive judging procedure, carried out by a panel of judges of the International Awards programme, chaired by Sir David Michells who said, “It truly is an outstanding achievement, as the standard this year was incredibly high”.

President of the International Hotel Awards Stuart Shield said, “This is the fourth year of the International Hotel Awards. Its aim is to highlight excellence in the luxury hotel industry, and praise the outstanding levels of service and style”.

He went on to state, that smaller luxury hotels such as Michelle, are also featured in this awards programme as they specialise in delivering a more intimate environment, for those seeking a quieter and more relaxing experience.

“With many five-star hotels offering an exemplary service on a 24-hour a day basis, we feel honoured to be able to highlight those that are making an art out of the process. They really do deserve recognition for all the effort they put into their business, as well as their overall presentation and innovation” he added.
