Australia-based DMS Universal and its Sri Lanka travel and tourism arm, Bliss Travels recently announced that the company hopes to build three hotels in Negombo, Uswetakeyyawa and Sigiriya, banking on Sri Lanka’s fast-growing tourism industry.
“We are positive about Sri Lanka’s potential. To acquire the lands in these areas Bliss Travels has already spent US $ 108 million and we plan to invest another US $ 245 million for the hotel projects in addition to our Colombo apartment project,” DMS Universal Executive Director Dr. Damian Fernando said.
DMS Universal is a private limited company incorporated and registered in Australia. Its core business is construction and is engaged in apartment unit development in Melbourne. Its travel arm Bliss Travels, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of DMS Universal (Pvt.) Ltd of Australia.
Bliss Travels, established in 2010, is involved in airline ticketing, international hotel reservation, outbound holiday tours and travel insurance. Its head office is located in Little Colin Street, Melbourne, Australia.
DMS Universal, as a well-known property development organisation, has established its name as a reliable unit developer in Northern suburbs of Melbourne. So far, the company has carried out nearly 10 constriction projects for the last four years.
Newest addition of DMS Universal was initially (in 2012) named as ‘Exotic Island (Pvt.) Limited’.
From this financial year, Exotic Island (Pvt.) Limited has been rebranded and relaunched for the Sri Lankan market as Bliss Travels – Sri Lanka.
Within a short period of time Bliss Travels became one of the leading travel agents in Melbourne due to its highly professional and friendly service.
Just after two years of inception, in 2013, Bliss Travels won Emirates’ Fastest Growing Travel Agent in Melbourne Award – jointly organise by Emirates and Orient Express Travel Group.
