Goldi Sands Hotel to open on November 27

One of oldest hotels in Negombo, the Goldi Sands will be reopened on November 27 after a major refurbishment. The hotel was closed for six months for this operation.

Suriya Resorts have invested around Rs. 250 million for the uplift of the hotel.

“We will also be upgraded to a three star property and will be the only classified such hotel in the area,”Managing Director of the hotel,Eric Suriyasena said. A former artist and batik designer, he opened Goldi Sands 40 years ago with 40 rooms and today has a total of 72 rooms and three suites.

He said that their main market are the British, French and the Germans and they have also seen increased arrivals from China.Meanwhile the four day World Travel Market closes today.
