Air India commences direct flights to Mumbai from Sri Lanka

Strengthening the Sri Lanka India tourism sector, Air India commenced direct flights to Mumbai effective from yesterday. The frequency would be daily.

The service will offer convenient connections to European cities London and Frankfurt and also to many domestic cities within India. As an introductory offer, Air India is offering special fares and 40 kg baggage allowance to its passengers travelling up to end of the year. Air India’s subsidiary, Alliance Air has also indicated that they would be operating Chennai Janna flights from the second week of November. This would be four flights per week. The on arrival visa facility too was a major factor for the air line to add Colombo and Jaffna.
