Amaya Leisure PLC, a subsidiary of Hayleys Group said it acquired the controlling stake of Sun Tan Beach Resorts (Pvt) Ltd, the owners of Centara Passikudah Resorts and Spa, a resort hotel managed by Thailand’s Centara Group.
“We hereby inform that Amaya Leisure PLC invested Rs.499, 399, 997. 73 in the equity stake of 45.2 percent in Sun Tan Beach Resorts (Private) Limited.”
The company further acquired equity stake of 5.8 percent for a consideration of Rs.63, 911, 046. 42 in the same company, taking its total equity in Sun Tan Beach Resorts (Private) Limited to 51 percent,” Amaya Leisure said in a stock exchange filing.
Centara Passikudah Resorts and Spa is a 125-room resort, and according to the acquirer it would complement the rest of Amaya chain of hotels.
