Owned and operated by Managing Director, Jeewantha Wijesekera of Deutsch Lanka Entertainment (Pvt) Ltd was opened recently with 11 luxury rooms and with a swimming pool. “With the opening of the Hemas Hospital and other developments happening in the Thalawathugoda area the hotel saw an increased demand and this was the reason they decided to increase capacity,” said Ranjith Dharmasena, F&B Manager of the hotel.

He said the hotel at Araliya Uyana, Hokandara Road, Thalawathugoda, is being categorized as a city hotel but offers more space and added facilities such as WIFI, safety lockers, mini bar, tea coffee making facility, cable TV to match three star standards. 24-hour front desk, Non-smoking rooms, facilities for disabled guests are some of the other facilities of the hotel.

He said that under the second phase development the management is looking to add 14 rooms and a mini conference facility to meet the MICE market.

The group of hotels hopes to invest around Rs. 250 million for this in 2015.

“We are also looking at catering to corporate functions and would also offer special packages for families travelling to Colombo from outstations,” he said.

The group commenced their leisure actives with the opening of the City of London Club in Thalawathugoda providing the night entertainment to the area which was a void.

This was followed up by the opening of the Hollywood night club in Colombo 5, and then the Seven Eleven restaurant in Capital Mall Thalawathugoda.
