eTN to support South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange as media partner

ETurboNews (eTN) has announced it will support the South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE) as a media partner. The event is scheduled to be held in India from 29-31 January, at the Pragati Maidan, Delhi’s largest exhibition center. Said eTN publisher Juergen T. Steinmetz: “The 21st edition of SATTE last year saw a massive industry response with over 640 exhibitors from 35 countries, 23 Indian states, airlines, DMCs, hotels, and the entire gamut of travel, tourism, and hospitality suppliers showcasing their products. With eTurboNews’ global subscriber base of 230,000 and the potential reach of 1.3 million, including 17,000 journalists, our publications are the perfect media distribution network for SATTE.”

The event received a record 10,000 business meeting requests between buyers and sellers last year, and also welcomed its highest ever number of attendees – 11,529 travel trade professionals, including pre-registered and hosted Indian and international buyers and business visitors. SATTE serves as an important platform for senior tourism decision makers. “The SATTE India Conference features industry leaders who address critical tourism issues in focused discussions. Industry experts voice their opinions, and travel and tourism trends are on the agenda. It is an important event for India, and eTN is proud to be a media partner,” added Steinmetz.

India has emerged as one of the fastest-growing destinations in travel and tourism in the world, and the tourism sector is expected to witness above-average growth. The government of India has set a goal to achieve a level of 11.24 million foreign tourist arrivals and 1,450 million domestic tourist visits by the year 2016-17. Recent measures taken by the government, such as Foreign Domestic Investment (FDI) in aviation and new visa laws, are further going to provide impetus to the Indian tourism industry. It is estimated that improved visa facilitation could bring in up to six million more international visitors to India, which could in turn create 1.8 million more travel jobs in the country over three years.
