Aitken Spence Travels has planned a special day to celebrate the sustainability activities carried out by the Travels staff and other stakeholders. The day will be focus on celebrating the contribution of stakeholders for the precious nature in terms of environmental friendly action/ socially responsible behavior or the economically benefitted operation. A little action make today, will cumulatively deliver a positive and bigger impact towards conserving nature.

THE GREEN DAY will be on 19th of February 2018 which celebrate the value of committing towards sustainability will be emphasized throughout the day and in line, there will be many programmes to celebrate THE GREEN DAY!

  • A tree planting programme will be held at Horana Forest Monastery on 17th February 2018 as a reforestation project.
  • The contribution of the staff members for the sustainability activities will be appreciated by offering them an overnight stay at luxury eco hotel. Also ensuring their continuous involvement for the sustainability activities.
  • A panel discussion will be held on THE GREEN DAY under the conversation of Sustainable Tourism & Individual Responsibility. It is aiming to educate the individuals towards sustainable tourism and prevailing pros and cons. The panel discussion will be on 19th February 2018 from 4-5.30 pm. The distinguish panelists are Prof. Sarath Kotagama, Ornithologist and Environmentalist, Mr. Srilal Mittapala, Past president of Tourist Hotels Association of Sri Lanka, Mr. Rukshan Jayewardene, President of Wildlife & Nature Protection Society of Sri Lanka.   • The other stakeholders such as accommodation providers, guides and more importantly clients will also be part of our GREEN DAY activities.
