SriLankan Airlines is to resume services to Pakistan’s commercial capital Karachi today (1).
Sri Lanka’s National Carrier will operate five weekly flights on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with flights arriving in Karachi at 15:10 hours and departing Karachi at 16:10 hours.
Some of the international flights into Pakistan were suspended following the closure of Pakistani airspace by the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan on 27 February. Some restrictions continue with regard to Pakistani airspace and SriLankan is awaiting the lifting of all restrictions to re-commence flights to Lahore, which the airline also operated to.
A member of the oneworld global airline partnership, SriLankan Airlines operates a route network of 111 cities in 48 countries from its hub in Colombo and also connects to over 1,000 cities in 160 countries through its oneworld partner airlines.
Sri Lanka’s National Carrier has won a string of recent international awards including ‘World’s Leading Airline to the Indian Ocean’ at the World Travel Awards; and ‘Asia’s Leading Airline to the Indian Ocean’ at World Travel Awards Asia Australasia.
