SL Vietnam Direct Flights Soon

The two leaders have agreed to sign an agreement to develop the fisheries industries in both nations Discussions are underway to ease visa procedures between the two countries

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had stressed the need to commence direct flights between Sri Lanka and Vietnam when he met Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in Hanoi last morning, and had said he would visit Sri Lanka using these facilities. In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s office, Mr. Wickremesinghe had assured his Vietnamese counterpart that Sri Lanka is ready for such a service. also discussions are underway to ease visa procedures between the two countries.

The two leaders have agreed to appoint a joint committee to enhance traditional ties between the two countries, to organize a visit of Sri Lankan businessmen to Vietnam and to sign an agreement to develop the fisheries industries in both nations.

Development Strategies Minister Malik Samarawickrama, Prime Minister’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake, Additional Secretary Saman Attaudahetti, Sri Lankan Ambassador in Hanoi Hasanthi Dissanayake and the Prime Minister’s Special Aide Sandra Perera participated in the discussions.
