The Calamander Unawatuna Beach Resort will be adding 22 additional luxury rooms by the end of this year. This is in keeping to the demands and also to provide more luxuries faculties from their growing clientele.
Panduka Ariyathilaka from the Calamander Unawatuna Beach Resort said that this wing is being separately developed without causing hassle to the existing guests.
The Singapore-based Calamander group management had invested 1.35 billion rupees to acquire and upgrade a hotel in Sri Lanka recently. The 30-year old hotel has since been re-named Calamnader Unawatuna Beach Resort. “Under this scheme the hotel was completely refurbished and today it is of four star plus standard.” Under the refurbishment drive 10 more rooms too were added, the main building to meet the future demands. “For the first time in Sri Lanka we are also building a third swimming pool with a glass wall to give an infinity view of the Indian ocean.”
The newly built COCO bar in the beach and also re-laid garden add more glamour to the hotel. “We have also completely re done the kitchen with new equipment and also the main restaurant has a new lay out. Due to the popularity of UBR we are still keeping this name for now.”
“We are happy with the investment we made to Calamander Unawatuna Beach and would look at adding more facilities in the future as well,” Calamander Chairman, Roman Scott said.
“For more than forty years, Unawatuna beach and UBR have been hugely popular with the North European market, in particular Germany and UK, Scandinavia and Holland and the along with locals tourists.”
